I can't tell you how many times incidents like this pop up on the news. All over England. I remember watching as ITV interviewed a cousin of a girl who was murdered in an 'honour killing'. To look at him, he was fully westernised. Looked like he just stepped out of a hollywood film. I thought "no way this modern man has held onto such horrific barbaric dark age ideas". Then he opens his mouth. "Well, you have to understand what family and faith mean in our culture and what it would have meant to her," he says. "She would have rather been dead than bring disgrace on her family. So it is not as bad as it might seem to English people."
